Two reasons why Sam Altman's firing has left OpenAI in chaos

Image
OpenAI's independent board of directors gave two examples of Sam Altman's dishonesty that allegedly led to their firing of co-founder and CEO Sam Altman, plunging the company into atrocities. On Sunday night, Ilya Sutskever introduced Emmett Shear, who was formerly Twitch's CEO, to the staff. Shear was appointed interim CEO of OpenAI, replacing Mira Murati, who was appointed to replace Altman in just two days on Friday. The briefing, which took place on Sunday at one of OpenAI's San Francisco offices, was attended by only a handful of the company's employees. The remainder voluntarily skipped attending the meeting. Employees spent the day waiting for the announcement of Altman's reappointment as CEO. For about 30 minutes on Sunday night, staff were told internally that Altman would return, then again that he would not, and then Shear's appointment.  When employees learned of Shear's appointment, most of them were "very upset," one of the p...

Bill Gates: personal AI assistants will be popular within the next 5 years

Image
While there are many different opinions on artificial intelligence, Bill Gates remains optimistic about its impact. In a recent blog post, the Microsoft co-founder admitted that the current software is somewhat limited but predicted a complete change in the near future. He predicts that within the next five years, everyone will have their own personal AI assistant. Gates envisions a simpler approach where users won't need multiple apps for different tasks. Instead, they can instruct their devices in everyday language, relying on the AI-controlled "device" to carry out requests. These assistants, he explained, will go beyond current technology, proactively offering suggestions, even before the user requests them. Describing the capabilities of these personal AI assistants , Gates emphasized their continued improvement over time as they become familiar to users. For example, during trip planning, an assistant will not only identify affordable hotels but also consider tr...

Somatic provides effective and convenient robot protection solutions

Image
Today's world is gradually being shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), where AI systems can create music, poetry, and news. A company based in New York, Somatic focuses on an important but not at all glamorous job: cleaning toilets. Cleaning the toilet is boring, repetitive, and uninteresting, and not everyone wants to do it. However, this is an important job, especially in public spaces such as offices, schools and hospitals - where bacteria can thrive. Applying automation to toilet cleaning is not only cost-effective, but also improves public health. As automation gradually changes industries, it is desirable for cleaning robots to replace humans handling unpleasant tasks. Somatic introduces an innovative solution: the automated trolley-bot. This is not just an ordinary vacuum cleaner; it's a machine with a lot of capabilities. It can open doors, control elevators and move through different floors. When working, the cleaning robot uses disinfectant and spr...

Grok chatbot will be a formidable competitor of ChatGPT, 8 basic differences?

Image
The competition in the emerging field of AI is heating up, with a new entrant vying for a piece of the market. Elon Musk's AI venture, 'xAI,' has unveiled a chatbot called 'Grok,' which is currently in beta but has ambitious expansion plans in the near future. While Grok shares some similarities with ChatGPT and Google Bard in terms of answering queries and engaging in conversations, there are several key differences that set Grok apart from ChatGPT . Will Krog chatbot material be a classy competitor of ChatGPT? Let's delve into these distinctions: 1/ Large Language AI Models: Grok is built on Grok-1, xAI's cutting-edge Large Language Model (LLM), boasting an impressive 33 billion parameters. In contrast, ChatGPT is based on OpenAI's GPT architecture, with GPT-4 being the latest iteration available in the market. 2/ Data Sources: ChatGPT has been meticulously trained on a vast and diverse dataset, including Common Crawl, web content, books, and Wi...

OpenAI introduces the most powerful “GPT-4 Turbo” model ever

Image
OpenAI has unveiled its latest version of GPT, GPT-4 Turbo, which offers a significant upgrade to the ChatGPT language model. At the inaugural developer conference held recently, the company provided highlights of this advanced model. GPT-4 Turbo stands out for its ability to handle significantly longer input data. This scalability allows for more complex and comprehensive queries, promising more accurate responses. OpenAI has also updated the training data for GPT-4 Turbo with the latest data. It's worth noting that even non-Turbo GPT-4 models receive updates that allow real-time internet data access. Developers will find GPT-4 Turbo a more cost-effective option. OpenAI has significantly reduced the costs associated with input and output tokens, the basic units used by large language models to understand instructions and generate responses. Here are the key upgrades and features that make ChatGPT a game changer: 1/ Increase input character length : One of the outstanding i...

What sets Grok apart is its intelligent and rebellious personality, making it a chatbot not for the faint of heart or without a sense of humor. Grok, whose main b...

Researchers discovered 34 Windows Drivers with security vulnerabilities

Image
Recently, researchers discovered that some Windows drivers contain vulnerabilities that are vulnerable to attack. Up to 34 Windows Driver Models ( WDM ) and Windows Driver Frameworks ( WDF ) contain vulnerabilities that can be exploited to gain full control of devices and execute arbitrary code on systems. “By exploiting the driver, an unauthorized attacker can delete/change basic and/or advanced system programming,” said Takahiro Haruyama, threat researcher at VMware Carbon Black. executive " . This research builds on previous studies, such as  ScrewedDrivers  and  POPKORN  that used  symbolic execution  to automatically detect vulnerable drivers. It focuses on drivers that contain firmware access through I/O ports and memory-mapped I/O. Names of some vulnerable Windows drivers include: AODDriver.sys, ComputerZ.sys, dellbios.sys, GEDevDrv.sys, GtcKmdfBs.sys, IoAccess.sys, kerneld.amd64, ngiodriver.sys, nvoclock.sys, PDFWKRNL .sys (CVE)  -2023-20598 , RadHwMgr.sys, rtif.sy...
