AI Pin - Will personal AI assistant devices soon replace smartphones?

Image
Humane AI, the company that just launched its first product aimed at replacing phones, is called AI Battery. This is a standalone product and has no screen, no need to connect to an external device. Former Apple employees want to replace their phones with AI Batteries ? Humane can make the smartphone in your pocket disappear. The startup's product, Ai Pin, is the first step on the path towards the perfect fusion of the physical and the digital, a personal AI device that you wear and communicate through speech and gestures. No screen, no buttons, no apps, no downloads. The public was given a preview of the device worn by models at Coperni's S/S 2024 show in Paris on September 29, 2023, implying that this type of device will eventually become widespread. 'Pin' is an understatement, as the product itself looks almost like a badge, using magnets to clip onto your clothing. Think of it as a personal digital assistant miniaturized to the point of near-invisibility, with s...

Microsoft is under investigation related to its $10 billion investment in OpenAI

Image
According to Reuters news agency, the possibility of Microsoft being investigated regarding its $10 billion investment in OpenAI is inevitable due to concerns related to the huge amount of money this company has invested in OpenAI.  The company is facing an investigation from both UK and US regulators, the UK Competition and Markets (CMA) and the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Both agencies are considering investigating whether Microsoft violated antitrust laws. The main issue that CMA fears is that Microsoft's investment of up to $10 billion could turn the relationship between them and OpenAI into a form of merger cooperation, negatively affecting competition and the development of the industry. artificial intelligence field in the UK.  On the other hand, the FTC is also examining whether this violates antitrust laws in the relationship between these two companies. It is inevitable that Microsoft will be investigated regarding its $10 billion investment in OpenAI . Micro...

Meta introduced Imagine with Meta and Make-A-Video, competing with Google AI

Image
The technology race between large companies like Meta and Google is becoming more and more exciting as they continuously introduce new AI applications to meet the growing needs of users in creating images and videos from descriptive text. Recently, Meta launched Imagine with Meta and Make-A-Video, competing with Google AI. Like OpenAI's DALL-E , Midjourney , and Stable Diffusion , the new application Imagine with Meta is being developed based on the social network giant's Emu image generation model. Notable is the confrontation between Google and AI Gemini and Meta with Imagine with Meta and Make-A-Video . These two apps are both created to turn text descriptions into high-quality images. While Google's Gemini AI focuses on image generation, Meta offers a multipurpose application, allowing users to create both images and videos with descriptive text. Imagine with Meta, which runs independently on the web, is built on top of Meta's existing Emu AI model. Not...

Landing AI launches custom LVM Models specifically for businesses

Image
The LVM (Large Vision Model) revolution is coming a little after the LLM (Large Language Model) revolution and will change the way we process images. In a move to boost custom AI applications, Landing AI has announced the launch of high-performance large vision models (LVMs), designed specifically for sector-specific enterprises. This technology enables businesses to quickly solve computer vision challenges inherent to their image datasets. Companies will leverage these domain-specific LVMs to develop custom solutions that accelerate AI vision tasks while protecting privacy and proprietary data. Landing AI , a leader in artificial intelligence, recently introduced a breakthrough in computer vision technology by giving companies across a variety of industries the ability to build large visual models ( LVM) is domain-specific.  Similar to how large language models drive AI development in text processing, these LVMs are expected to spark a “visual revolution” in businesses. China builds an underwater data center with a capacity of 6 million PCs

Image
China has a groundbreaking plan for managing the overwhelming volumes of digital data created daily: submerging data centers underwater. These centers, essentially colossal collections of computer storage, store everything from music playlists to emails. Data centers are massive computer storage warehouses, containing everything from your Spotify playlists to your Gmail messages. According to China Daily, although installing these giant underwater server farm units is not an easy task, it brings two major benefits. First, it saves substantial land space. By 2025, the plan is to install 100 of these underwater data center blocks, occupying approximately 68,000 square meters (732,000 square feet) of construction space, equivalent to nearly 13 football fields. This frees up land for other uses while the data centers reside 35 meters (115 feet) beneath the sea. Another crucial benefit is the natural cooling effect of seawater, which helps regulate temperatures around the operating dat...
