The world’s smallest VR headset just got lighter and clearer with Beyond 2—no Apple or Meta needed
Bigscreen Beyond has long been known as the smallest and lightest PC VR headset on the market. Now, its successor, Bigscreen Beyond 2, takes things even further.
With better lenses, a newly adjustable IPD system, and optional accessories like eye tracking and the Halo Mount, it promises an upgraded experience for VR enthusiasts.
A lightweight VR headset with enhanced optics
The original Bigscreen Beyond made waves with its ultra-lightweight 127-gram design (excluding the head strap and face cushion). This was a stark contrast to bulkier competitors like the Meta Quest 3 (515g) and Apple Vision Pro (650g). However, unlike those standalone devices, Bigscreen Beyond required a PC connection and external SteamVR tracking.
Bigscreen Beyond 2 retains its compact form but drops even more weight—now just 107 grams. That’s a 16% reduction, making it the lightest PC VR headset ever. The real game-changer, however, is its new pancake lens system, which delivers:
Now, users can fine-tune the lens position for each eye separately using a small tool. This is a major breakthrough, making the headset more accessible to people with different eye distances. No more worrying about whether your IPD falls within a narrow range—Beyond 2 adapts to you.
More comfort with the Halo Mount
The custom-fit face cushion still requires an iPhone face scan, ensuring a snug fit. However, for those who prefer a more flexible approach, Bigscreen introduces the Halo Mount, launching in Q3 2025. Inspired by night vision goggles, it eliminates the need for face scanning and provides multiple fit options:
